The most significant season of my life recently ended, and not by my choice.

Like nature, the Universe gives and takes away. It is only we humans that attach permanence to things and people. Society has conditioned us to assume ownership of the things we create and love. When we lose what we believe we own, we suffer.

I spent the last three weeks sitting in the basement of my psyche with grief, disappointment, and feelings of betrayal. Wondering how the most amazing experiences always end too soon.

In this inquiry, I remembered something I learned long ago from one of my favorite books of all time, The Little Prince by Antoine de Sant Exupéry. The Little Prince goes on a great meander to learn what is most important in life. He meets all sorts of characters who each teach him an important lesson.

A fox teaches him the biggest truth of all: How to establish ties, an act too often neglected.

The fox explains, “if you tame me, then we shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in all the world. To you, I shall be unique in all the world. If you tame me, it will be as if the sun came to shine on my life. One only understands the things that one tames.”

“In order to tame, one must observe proper rites. These are also actions too often neglected. They are what make one day different from other days, one hour from other hours.”

Every Monday afternoon for four years, I opened a circle to hold space for beautiful beings from all over the world to gather and share the contents of their hearts. In that witness, we were all tamed. The sun shone on all our lives.

I am not the same person I was four years ago…I learned how to love without edit. I allowed myself to be completely authentic and vulnerable. My mission: that everyone feels seen, heard, was mirrored back to me. I received it like the desert receives rain.

In this loving container, we laughed, we cried, we expressed anger and disappointment. Everything was met with grace and love. The world needs more of these loving containers.

As he said goodbye, the fox told the Little Prince a secret: “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”

I learned that secret with every fiber of my being over the last four years.

Currently, a new door of infinite possibility is open. I am in awe of the Miracle of the perfect unfolding when I let the Universe do its job and I do mine ~ stay in my truth and remain open to more optimal ways of being, loving, and serving.

When I feel that YES in my gut, it’s go time. Until then, I will roll around in the crucible of regeneration.

Such a beautiful and eloquent glimpse into your soul these last weeks. Thank you for continuing to live in your FULL and RADIANT BEing, no matter where life takes you... And for sharing your authenticity with those who love you and are with you through it all.

This book was one of my favorites decades ago. I think I shall pick it up again ✨ Such wisdom.

May your regeneration be exactly what you need. How can it not when you hold it with such integrity and reverence? Sending much love and holding this precious container with you 💞

Seeing with our hearts, we did, and continue to do. I so long for the possibility of doing that in community with you, Marlene. Not because I can't or don't do it on my on, because I do. Rather, because it is a juicy, full, delicious, warm, vibrant, heart-connected experience in community with you and a growing circle of loved ones.

You are in my heart. And I look forward to your next blog, and eventually to a blog expressing Yes. in your gut, when it's Go Time!

Meanwhile, I'm celebrating your crucible of regeneration and living mine.

Love to you, precious, vibrant soul, Marlene ❣️
